World Standards Services Network (WSSN), is a network of publicly accessible World Wide Web servers of standards organizations around the world. Through the Web sites of its members, WSSN provides information on international, regional and national standardization and related activities and services.

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is comprised of fourteen member states, which together make up a population of nearly 200 million people. An essential prerequisite for greater economic integration of the region is the harmonization of member countries’ standards and technical regulations. This is the responsibility of SADCSTAN (SADC Cooperation in Standardization).

SADCA, as the regional accreditation structure of SQAM (Standardisation, Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Metrology) was tasked with defining a suitable accreditation infrastructure, enabling organisations in the SADC Member States to access accreditation services from internationally recognised National Accreditation Bodies within their countries, or to form a regional accreditation service, SADCAS

The SADC Cooperation in Measurement Traceability co-ordinate metrology activities and services in the Region, in order to provide regional calibration and testing services, including regulatory bodies, with readily available traceability to the SI units of measurement, through legally. Regional co-operation and integration in southern Africa owes its origin to historical, economic, political, social and cultural factors that have created strong bonds of solidarity and unity among the peoples of southern Africa. These factors havecontributed to the formation of a distinct southern African personality and identity that underpins political and economic co-operation.

SABS is a statutory body that was established in terms of the Standards Act, 1945 (Act No. 24 of 1945) and continues to operate in terms of the latest edition of the Standards Act, 2008 (Act No. 29 of 2008) as the national institution for the promotion and maintenance of standardization and quality in connection with commodities and the rendering of services.

Standards Australia is recognised by the Government as Australia’s peak Standards body. It coordinates standardisation activities, develops internationally aligned Australian Standards® that deliver Net Benefit to Australia, and facilitates the accreditation of other Standards Development Organisations. Through the Australian International Design Awards it promotes excellence in design and innovation.

Dès 1930, le LNE s’intéresse à la sécurité des produits de consommation et en 1976, il crée un département consommation.

Résultant d’une initiative commune, en 2006, du Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ) et de l’Association française de normalisation (AFNOR) pour la communauté internationale francophone de la normalisation, le Réseau Normalisation et Francophonie (RNF) s’est rapidement développé autour d’une structure très légère et de la mutualisation des moyens de ses membres. Une charte fixe leurs valeurs et enjeux partagés de solidarité et de coopération. Le secrétaire général de l’Organisation internationale de la francophonie (OIF), le président Abdou Diouf, a appuyé la création du Réseau.

L’Organisation pour l’Harmonisation en Afrique du Droit des Affaires (OHADA) a été créée par le Traité relatif à l’Harmonisation du Droit des Affaires en Afrique signé le 17 octobre 1993 à Port-Louis (Ile Maurice). L’OHADA regroupe aujourd’hui 16 pays et elle reste ouverte à tout Etat du continent africain.
